Default How do these plugs look?

From looking at the NGK pic chart i *THINK* that engine is OK but might be running a little rich (due to the black soot on the ring).

Pics of the plugs are here:

Am I correct?

Black soot on the ring appears on almost every plug.

Timing looks good. The plugs look cold, because there are no heat rings on the threads, normally the first 2-3 threads on the plug will discolor, indicating normal heat range.

Are those soot marks on the insulator permanent, or can you wipe it off?

They look pretty good, but I would get a warmer plug, what engine do you have?

The engine is in good shape, a little bit of extra fuel, air filter might be old, but given the mileage, it doesn't look bad at all.
