how do i get the trans to split apart
to take the clutch housing and tranny housing apart:
take housing bolts off
take the bolts on the side off, the ones with a spring and steel ball inside, i think theres 3 of them.
take 32 mm sealing bolt from the top of tranny housing off, inside of that bolt is a snap ring, get some pliers and espand the ring outwards while pulling the tranny housing up.

in that 1st pic, the 2 bolts on the right side near the top need to come out, when you take those out there's gonna be a spring and ball inside.
then, you can't see it from the 1st pic but it's at the top of or end of the tranny housing., it's a 32mm bolt, it doesn't have a regular bolt that you can take off with a socket. use just a ratchet with no sockets. once you've taken that off, inside is a snap ring, abig snap ring. all you can see is the sides of the ring, you need to spread it apart. while spreading the ring apart pull up on the housing.

is there anyway to get around spreading the snap ring?

I am not doubting you at all, but are you totally sure about this?
I need to know so that i can tell the shop that built my trans.
this happened with only 57 break-in miles on my new motor.
Thanks you very much for all of your help

yep, pretty sure. just went out the garage to look at my helms manual to reconfirm (nothing on tv except olympic girls gymnastics).
you think the shop would cover that?

the tranny belongs to me, and the shop that i got the tranny built (Steve Kodd) at refuses to cover it.
Steve (the owner) said that they do not cover or warranty race applications. I think this is total bullshit being that my transmission is internally stock (diff and gearsets are new, but stock.) And even if it wasnt stock, I had only driven 57 BREAK-IN miles, with no abuse or revs above 4500.
People these days are real ********, and Steve Kodd definetly gets a
