Default How do I check OBD1 ECU codes on OBD0 car?

My car is converted from OBD0-OBD1. On the OBD0 the ECU has a LED. Is there a way to check the codes once you modify the ECU harness to OBD1?

There should be a wire (#8, orange in the first pic) on your harness located in the "D" plug (you can see its location in the first pic). That needs to be grounded in order to and it will make your "check engine" light flash the code, just like to ole LED on the obd0 ecu.

This is what I did. I ran that wire (#8 in my pic) to one side of a 2 prong plug(green in my 2nd pic), then the other wire (blue in my 2nd pic) form that plug needs to go to a ground. Now this will be an open connection and will not make your check engine light flash yet. Next, I take a solderless connector and put it into my plug (see 2nd pic) and this will close that connection, grounding my #8 wire and making my check engine light flash.

Clear as mud?

Do you have a conversion harness? On my brother's old (converted to) OBDI CRX, we used to jump the timing adjustment connector on the lefthand side of the car in front of the shock tower. The codes would then flash through the Check Engine light in the gauge cluster.

No. I hard wired it into my wire harness. I wired the ECU right to the distributer and fuel injectors.

Thanks for the info guys!
