HOW TO: Degree the cams on a b18b?
I don't really know of any how to articles... What do you mean by degree? Like how to measure the degrees of duration? There are ways to do this, all you need is the tools.. A tracking runout gauge will tell you when your cam is generating lift but you also need something to measure the rotation (in degrees)... Latez
I wasn't really talking about cam duration. I was talking about adjusting the cam sprokets so that the cams are in perfect alignment with the bottom half of the motor. You can use a degree wheel to do this. I thought maybe someone could shed some light on this for me
I am not talking about simply lining up the marks on the sprokets, I am talking about using adjustable cam sprokets and a degree wheel on the crank to do it exactly.

You will need a degree wheel for the crank and a dial indicator to place on the valve retainer via a dial indicator base. I beleive you zero(push it in then zero) out the indicator and rotate the crank till the valve starts to open, which will occur before bdc that will tell you valve opening. Then just do the math and adjust the gears to open when the cam spec calls for it. Then do the exhaust cam. Dont quote me but i think i'm going in the right direction here. someone correct me if I'm wrong and then add in all the important stuff I missed
