how can i do a leak down test or compression test when the engine its not in a car wut tool do i use where do i get it?

get a compression tester and plug it in the sparkplug holes and turn the crankshaft pulley

 

i had that it mind, but i was told the it need it to be crank really fast thats why its better to do it in the car. have u done it before???

 

its a good idea to do it in the car. take out the sparl plugs and also get a starter to turn the engine or get a friend to do it. Let it do about 5 turns. Also do not forget to push the button on the compression tester after you tested the cylinder to let the pressure out. Then do the same for the other cylinders.

 

ok yes i know that way ! but the engine its not in the car!!

 

Can you not hook the starter to turn the engine over? just wire it straight to a battery
