Default hot tanking

will hot tanking remove caked on oil etc off the outside of an engine block? i am making a finished piece out of a engine block and i want it to be bare shiny metal, so i can clear itl. also anyone know how much hot tanking usually costs?

Yes, hot tanking will clean off anything. Oil, carbon, paint, just about anything that can be on or in an engine will be removed.

if you want shinny, buy some wire wheel brushes and use that with a power drill...works very nicely
