Hone before or after hot tank?
sorry for ignorence but what happens when you HOT TANK?? i just did a search and it only brought up this one.

you boil the block or "hot tank" b4 you hone
the reason being that machine shops dont work on greesy/dirty blocks
2nd reason why you would want to do a hot tank b4 a hone is because you want the hone process to remain greesed, or coated. They spray w/ WD-40 after they hone so it doesnt rust.

Definately hone after hot tanking. The solvants in the "hot tank" can wash down the hone job if you do it afterwards. WD-40 is mild enough not to mess any of the crosshatch up.
