Default Honda LSD question

I was wondering if you guys know who makes Honda's LSD? Someone told Kaaz. But I doubt that highly. And I also highly doubt that any Honda LSD uses clutch packs. I thought it was all helical/torsen/gear with some exceptions of viscous.*spelling* Can anyone clearify so I can prove this person wrong...or myself perhaps?

Thanks

I believe Honda (of Japan) makes their own LSD's in their tranny department. I could be wrong though.

The older Y1 89-91 B16 cable transmissions come equipped with a clutch-type LSD whereas the newer hydro (92+) tranny's use gear type LSD's. Type-R LSD's use the torsen-helical LSD. If i'm not mistaken, I *think* all of the honda gear type LSD's are helical.

side note:
There is no factory Honda LSD that will work in an S1 or J1 tranny. You'd have to go aftermarket LSD for the S1/J1 tranny's.

So as of now typically speaking, all cars that are equiped with LSD these days from Honda is torsen helical type?...And should be no where near clutch packs? I really didn't think they would use clutch packs now...I thought maintenance would be an issue...and thats totally not Hondas' styles at all!

yes, you can drop in any JDM OEM B18C/B18C-R/or CTR LSD into your LS tranny. But you cannot drop a hydro B16A LSD in unless you use the B16A ring gear because of the smaller diameter the ring gear & LSD have as a whole.

If you could find the Honda LSD anywhere, it probably still be cheaper to buy a Quiafe.

Either CTR or ITR LSD (same design/make up). You can find them used for about $400-500 on the net.
