hole on the firewall after a/c removal
well, im definitely taking out the a/c soon for weight reduction and I live in the bayarea CA so I rarely ever use it. Anyways, the line the runs from the condensor that runs into the interior goes through the firewall. Im wondering, after taking out the a/c lines, what do I do about that hole in the firewall?
Also, is there anything else under the dash thats a/c related I could remove to save weight?
ps. I still want to use my fan and heat.
thanx guys

you can patch that hole with a high-heat rubber grommit of some sort or a rubber plug...you might have to wallow out the hole to get it the right size
haha, i'm going to get one tomorrow! good call.
When I took out my AC i took everything out of the engine compartment but left the interior alone b/c I feared loosing my heat if I took anything else out.

question, if I plug up the hole, and accidentally turn on the a/c later, will it put a force on the grommit, meaning, is it going to suck on it or something? or will nothing happen besides the fans coming on?

If you already removed your a/c, you can also remove your evaporator (it's the part that has the a/c lines sticking out of the firewall into the engine compartment). You need to install the plastic ducting that goes in place of the evaporator, otherwise your air delivery system will not work correctly. The plastic ducting can be obtained from your local Honda dealer.
removing the evaporator saves ~5lbs.
there is no gromet for car that did not have ac... the fire wall is not even cut open.
fyi... duct tape will work just fine to fill the hole. (insde and out)
