High Idle on ls/vtec
Im trying to start my new ls/vtec motor for the first time (91 ls block/00 si' head in a 96 integra). Using a type-r manifold and factory internals and I still have my stock non-vtec computer installed. The motor starts but immediatly revs to around 3,000 rmps and stays there. Im only throwing code #6 (Engine Coolant Temperature), and that connector clip got messed up. My throttle plate is closed. my TPS Sensor reads .45v when closed. IACV is connected correctly and showing no codes. FITV is sucking air through TB but im not sure how to check if its working fine. I cant find any vacuum leaks. Im using stock 00 Si spark plugs for right now and i havent set ignition timing yet. This is my first motor build and swap and its possible that I connected something wrong but im pretty positive everything is correct. Anyone have any ideas?
Are there two ports inside the throttlebody just outside throttle plate?
I had a similar problem and it was that my fast idle was wide open. I just disconnected it and solved my problem.

You said the coolant temp sensor was messed up ... doesn't this regulate the "fast idle" startup for warming up the engine? Or am I just talking out of my ***, since I don't really know ...
