I just did a jdm b16 into my 90 crx swap. It seems like its geared really high. Ive never driven a car with a different tranny than stock so i dont know if this is suppose to be like that. But when im doing about 70 mph on the highway my rpm is at about 4 1/2. Is that normal for my tranny?

 

you mean geared really low....

it's fine thats how it's supposed to be......you could swap out the 5th gear for an ls gear if you really wanted to to get better higway milage

 

yea the b16a trannys have pretty short gears.

 

will being geared like this cause alot faster wear on my motor because the rpms stay up more?

 

little 4 cylinders like to be reved.

The Si tranny is simply an ITR without the LSD. Shorter gearing than a GSR or LS.

 

what if i have a JDM S1,j1 tranny? what 5th gear can I swap out for that?
