Default high flow cats?

I've seen a few aftermarket cats for sale now. I read that you cat find ~5hp going with these high flow cats, has any one have experience with them? I was thinking of either a Powercore or Randon Technology California legal cat. It's for a SOHC motor.

Thanks
Rob

A few things to think about before you do buy a high flow cat. First they will free up very little power on a lightly modified engine(Be weary of propaganda, they also say the Tornado is good for 20whp and its just a piece of metal you put in your intake). So unless you plan on going FI I wouldn't even bother. Second is quality. I have heard quite a few people say that the catalyst would crumble inside the cat. Although Random Tech seems to have the best reputation. I would suggest saving your money and putting it torwards something eles until removing/altering the cat becomes more important.

Buid a test-pipe. That's what I did. My VTEC wasn't doing a god damn thing until around 6100 but now it comes alive at engaugement. Test pipes do make good power.

Only worth doing if a header and cat back exhaust is already present. HP gains are minimal 3-5hp
you could actually buy a universal cat from Dynomax/Walker and have the flanges welded to be installed to fit in the oem location. Summit Racing and Jegs are good sources..

good luck..
