high compression pistons
i dont want to spend 1000$ to sleve an engine but i do need high compression i know if i use oem pistons i dont have to sleve but y do i have to sleve with aftermarket if i get them std or .25 os ??
Oversize pistons plus .25mm or .50mm are fine with unsleeved cylinders. You need to have high compression pistons tuned correctly and run high octane fuel to keep from cracking sleeves. Most of the reason all motor cars sleeve is to get bigger displacement.

H22 with the FRM liners its always best to sleeve to aftermarket pistons. The oem and now the mahle pistons are an alternative. The Gold Series mahle can be used with the FRM liners.

I guess that mentioning that it was a H22 would have been good info to include in your post. Like was said the Mahle or OEM are your options without sleeving.
