Default Hid questions for Professionals

I got a question about hid projector light output. I reciently purchased TYC one piece headlights for my eh2 and installed an h1 hid kit. It has no glare whatsoever buy it also seems to have worst light output than with the stock halogen bulbs.

It seems that because there is no light output from the tip of hid bulbs the projectors give great area coverage but the distance is shot. Like I said before the h1 halogen bulbs has more distance than the hids.

Is there anyone who can explain why cars like the s2000 and audi has such great light output from their housings? Is there any website that can show the exact focal point of the luxury cars that make thier light output so superior? Last, Is there anything that I can do to my existing projectors to increase the distance? (i.e putting foil around the projectors or modifying the bulb to go in the housing further.

I hope to get answers to all of these questions. I hate using the stock headlights even though the light output was great after slight modification, there was too much glare.

Thanks.
