Default Hesitation at 75-80 mph

A friend's stock Integra occassionlly hesitation, strange thing is it's always at 75-80 mph. No codes on the stock ECU. Ignitor?

it sounds to me (from the vague description) it is the tires, unbalanced or they might have a bump, just tell him to rotate them and balanced them.

It hesitates, like when you give it gas and it doesn't accelerate. It stutters.

so it´s pretty much a constant vibration at a certaing speed? if soo, then my old reply is still standing, get the tires balanced and rotated and check for uneven thread or any bump either on the wheel or the tire. good luck

Not a vibration or shaking of any kind. Absolutely not the tires. It's like you accelerate and the car starts to stutter like it's not getting gas, or like someone is pulling the spark plug wires out on you while your accelerating.

is funny, your description sounds like a fuel cut or rev limiter, i would check the fuel system, filter, pump and injectors, but i don´t really feel confident to say exactly what is your problem. So this is more like a BUMP

EDIT: spel and coherence.

Sounds like spark, but again could be a few things, i think ur right with ur original post. Ignitors arent too expesive and if u have a lot of miles on the car ur gonna need one sooner or later, even though never really hear of them taking a ****- good luck

i'm actually running into the same problem, car cuts back on powere at about 85, till it hits about 60-65 then back into power. From what i've been told i either need to hook up my knock sensor, or change my dist, i'm running a hx dist on a ex eng and the ex doesn't have the knock hooked up properly...

If it were the knock sensor, wouldn't the ECU throw a code?

Yes the ecu would throw a code if knock sensor is not hooked up the right way. Some ecu wont even let you rev past 5k if the knock sensor is not working.

I'm pretty sure he changed the plugs already and the problem persisted.
