Help squeezing power from the D17 motor.....
I know people are going to say "go nitrous or go turbo." I don't really want to go with nitrous and I can't afford a turbo right now. I have basic bolt ons right now and there was almost no gain what so ever. From what I am hearing this is one of the most complicated engines to squeeze power from so any help from you guys will be appreciated. Thanks.
Can't because nobody makes motor mounts for the B series and my car yet. Also if I can't afford a turbo right now, what makes you think that I can afford a motor?
what i'm saying is the small gains you'll see with the bolt-on's are not worth the money spent.
save your money and put a b-series into it...and when you have 3500 to spend on a swap hasport will have mounts...and make your own if you really have to.
i'm willing to bet the mounts are nearly identical...with the rear mount/bracket being the only one that needs to be modified.
while i could be wrong...honda will usually go with the cheapest and proven mounting positions of prior civic/d-series setups...
at most, i'd suggest a 50 shot of nitrous...stock everything else.
then you can sell the kit to some ricer when you have enough money for the motor i already suggested you buy.
