ok,

Ive got a '91 civic sedan LX as a winter ride, im attempting to do some maintence to the rear brakes, however the rear drums are rusted together, ive tried everything i can think of to get them off. im not sure if they've ever been removed since 1991 lol.

does anyone have any tips to getting drums apart?

 

use the adjuster and loosen the shoes (a lot).

 

yea loosen the adjuster and take 2 bolts that fit the holes in front of the drum and ratchet them in that should help you get the drum off easier

just to let u know i hate drums but i like the wrx das gonna be my next car but the sti model in white

 

there is also a threaded hole in the drum where you can tighten down a long bolt into it so it can push it away from the hub. HTH
