HELP please!! car won't start! read more-------->
Ok, I posted in the EG forum, but figured I might as well post here as well.

So the whole story is in there, but here is a rundown.
After changing my girl's clutch in her 95 LS her car won't start. I took off the distributor, and starter during the process, and I feel it has to be in that somehow. The motor is turning over, and sounds like it wants to start, it just doesn't. We are getting spark, fuel, and the motor is turning.
WTF could this be? If the starter was bad the motor wouldn't turn, correct? if the Dist. was bad we shouldn't get a spark, right?
please help!!!!
THANKS!

we took out the plugs and let it sit for a little while in case it was flooded. Same result.

I'll try this when I go to the car today... but, what would this do?
well, tomorrow is my last chance to get this thing going... then her mom is gonna have it towed to a mechanic. So, I'm gonna do everything possible to try to get it started... change batteries, unbolt/rebolt starter, etc....
any last advice, tips, or things to check before I get into this?
thanks.. I'll let you know what happens.

Hmm... So the Starter is cranking huh?.. Is it cranking at a normal rate??.. The Spark Plugs are wet??.. Whenever I run into wet Spark Plugs, I turn on the Propane Stove and burn all the Gasoline off of them. Once that's done, they work fine..
But other than that.. I'm sorry.. I just can't remember how to diagnose the Distributor along with the Starting Circuit.. But one thing I do know is that one of the wires going to the Distributor should have at least 9.6V at cranking. If not, the Ignition System won't have enough voltage to start up the engine..

how do you know you're getting spark? I've done it twice before, but I've left the little black clip that goes to the starter unhooked and was confused to. Check that if you havent already. Other than that, I dunno if you say the car is getting air, fuel and spark
ok, I don't know...
now, I think I lined up the crank pulley right to TDC, and when I looked at the rotor it looked like it was pointing at #3... but we put the belt on right the other night... what could be going on?
it cranks over like a champ..
thanks.

well, thats the thing.... when the dist. was put back on wrong it cause the timing belt to jump 2 teeth... so we fixed that.
argh!?!?!??! now what?

thanks for the help guys.. it's too cold outside to do anything more, so I guess I'm done.. a mechanic is going to look at it tomorrow..I know it's just the timing.. somwhere, but it all seemed to line up right.
