Icon2 help for a newbie

Hi I have an automatic 91 honda civic dx 3 door hatchback that I am trying to tune up and rebuild. I try and do most part changes myself so links to tutorials would be nice. I am not going for speed, what I want is to make it as fuel efficient as possible. I currently blew the lower spark plug tube seals so she isnt out on the road. So far I have replaced the battery, battery wires, spark plug wires, distributer, spark plugs, and alternator. And this is where I am stuck at! I need help finding wat parts I should order, where I should order them from, and the best parts at the best price(if I can parts with warranties). I want to change out pretty much everything I can like the starter, pumps, belts, any senors, wires, hose, mounts and anything I can to upgrade from its 22 yr old parts. I want to do the engine first and then move to the suspension and axles cause my steering was getting bad before she went down. Any help will greatly be appreciated. I hope to do most work myself but have mechanics who can do it for me if I cant.

I don't think you wanna just go changing things just cause there old. If I were you I would change the things that I know are broken. Do your best to just have a smooth running reliable 22 year old car with no problems before trying to make enhancements.

Ditto the above^^^, if your not pulling the engine and rebuilding it, you gain nothing by replacing parts that are not "broken", that money is better spent on theings that do need replacing.

With that said, things you may want to replace are the water pump, timing belt and tensioner and any other drive belts, rad and heater hoses.

OEM or good quality aftermarket parts are your best bet, budget parts will get you "good" pricing, but you get what you pay for.

Your local Honda dealer or local auto parts store is where you should get the parts or online sites for for stores in your local area, if you do buy online, closely check the warranty/return policy.
