Help my poor little gsr:(
Last time i was accerlating really hard on the freeway my car hit 6500 rpms and it felt like it it rev limiter. I immediatley let off the gas and we got off the freeway and checked the car to find nothing wrong. The car doesnt blow smoke or anything and appears to run fine but needs an oil change. And today it did it again at 7k rpms..what is going on????? THe mods are 97gsr with 89kmiles aem,R cams, Jdm header,test pipe and type R exhaust and rc 64mm tb. I am going to try and it get it tuned up by the end of this week but its wierd cuz it only does it every once in a while but it bugs the hell outta me

Is it worse in hot weather?
That could be a lot of things, but I'm guessing ignition. If you notice your tach jumping when it happens than it is probably your ignitor.
I'm assuming no codes? When was the last time you changed plugs/wires/cap/rotor?

How fast are you going? The speed limiter kicks in in a similar fashion. Mine (PR3) kicks in at ~112mph, doesn't matter what gear or RPM.

Yep, I'm going to agree with the ignition gremlin diagnosis. Pull the distributor & make sure that all the wires have good, sealed connections ICM & the dust shield that covers the rotor is intact.
