well basicaly i have a 93 cx with a b18c1, intake and exhaust, and i always wondered if it was running fulll potential by running other modded civics i do pull on them but not as hard as i thought i would be doing, then i got smoked hard by a supercharged gsr (stock boost) but then i was juss like whatever but today i ran a new si and i BARELY pulled on him, and these are supposed too be kinda slow.... any one know were i can get it checked out? how what cause ive got a tune up already, got the motor from hondamotorsonline.com so compression waas good... any ideas guys>? i mean it idles and sounds right too except for a whistling noise coming somewere (maybe a tiny lil air leak>>>?)
thanks for any tech help

wow, ya know its kinda hard to determine anything when
comparing your car to another car. too many variables!
I would:
check the valve clearances
replace the tune up parts if needed
check the T-Belt tension at TDC
check the ignition timing 17-18BTDC makes the most power in these cars
most of the time...
check the fuel pressure should be 43.5 at idle and 52psi at WOT
dyno the car and look at the AFR
your midrange hp/tq X over is 5250RPM
a stock B18C1 makes 105 and with intake and exhaust
you should see 110-112 at 5250 if you are healthy.
check the clutch
compression test the motor
check the engine mounts for stress fractures
are the tires old
check for manifold gasket leaks, Intake and Exhaust
check for exhaust leaks...
load the bearings at a dead stop, start from
2nd at wot and shift to third at 3K at wot...if you
feel a hesitation, chances are the rod bearings may be tired
there are about a million things you could do to find
power on a healthy motor. I suggest you learn and
take it a step at a time.
happy motoring
