Default Help Me Solve My Tranny Problem. PLEASE!

a couple of weeks ago i was leaving a friends house. i had to turn around in the street so i was pulling a three point turn. when foward fine, then reversed fine, then as i started to slip the clutch to go foward again. i heard somethin break and my car was just reving but wouldnt move. i could put it in gear, and i probably shouldnt have done this but i even put it in gear with out depressing the clutch pedal and it went into gear just fine, with no grinds or anything. but as i reved it wouldnt move. i dropped my transmission and my clutch/pressure plate are both fine. the throwout bearing seems fine as well. im guessing it is something inside the transmission? when i turn the input shaft the places where the axles would be going into the transmission turn at the same speed no matter what gear i put it in. anyone have any idea what is wrong? thanks

What has likely happened is that your axle popped out of the tranny, nothing broke.

get under the car, look closely at the axles - if they are really sitting tight in the tranny. Slam them in, just in case.

This is my guess - happened to me and to people I know - you probably had your steering wheel turned allll the way out...

edit... hmm, you already dropped it....
Well, maybe you had noticed one of the axles coming out of the tranny too easily?
Check out your axle ends now - if one axle popped and was touching the differential, it might have the end of splines a bit ground down by the spinning diff.

Or hey, since it's already out, drop an LSD in there. Might as well....
