Default Help me diagnose this problem.

ITs on a Tacoma pickup, but that shoudlnt matter. When you try to start it most of the time all you get is a loud click, no engine rotation. Then after 10 tries it goes. And after that usualy it will start while its warm. Should I replace the starter? Questions too. Is the solenoid on the starter? Question three, Could the relay be making that loud clicking noise? I would tend to think no, since relays are small, and only used to give power to solenoids. The clicking is quite loud. Im thinking I hsould just change the starter. Any opinions?

I had a sentra with a SR20 that did that, ended up being the starter. so I replaced it know issues afterward.

Yes, It's most likely the solenoid on the started but since it's nearly impossible to find one separately you'll probably have to replace the whole starter. Beware of cheap Kragens (or others) 'remanufactured' starters, I've seen them with bad solenoids out of the box.

if you know what your doing you can replace the solenoid for about 7 dollars. You can get it at most auto parts stores.

What you got is a gear reduction starter. They are expensive, so go for a solenoid.
You can take the starter to an auto electric shop and have them rebuild it too.
