Default Help...MaybE an Axle Problem

I need your smart knowledge... i was driving my car today up a small incline. downshifted to pass another car, then i hear a thud i back off then start to gas again and it would be fine but every now and then it would make a thud sound then car would jerk. like it the transmission was turning but my wheels wouldnt turn. and this would go on and off. i let go of the gas, and coast and it would be ok, but once on the gas it would be the same thud sound and jerk. my theory is that i broke my passenger side axle, but not sure, any help on what might be the problem? also i would turn the steering wheel and it would stay left or right i would have to force it back to the middle straigten up again. but i would always hear the thud sound. cv boots seem fine but theres is grease everywhere but i dont know if that came from the old axle from the sohc or the current one dohc
Engine is b18c1 in a 93 civic cx. thanks again

Carlo

I cant say for sure why it may be happening.
but pulling out the joints and checking them is like a 1 hr job. Sound like its a half-shaft problem, but im not sure...check then shafts isnt a bad idea.

i eventually took a closer look at the half shafts of my POS dx the past weekend, and boy does it have bearings. i'd say remove your axles and try turning or pivoting the joints by hand. that's just what my amateur head would do. sounds to me like you've busted a bearing.
