Default HElP manually purging IACV in B16a engine

does anyone know how to do this I purchased a used valve and the guy I got it from says this

You asked:
"Is there a way to get another one of these coming to me this one you had sent is setting check engine light for IAC my original did not even set the light off it just fluctuated at idle ,, my problem is that I trashed my old one and need to still drive my car to work ,i will ship back same day once new one is received"

The engine light will not go off until the car is hooded up to a OBD2 scanner, and the codes are cleared. You need to have the valve manually purged it is at a high point and will have an air bubble in it if it is not purged properly.

If you absolutely need to use the car, you can disconnect the plug to the IACV and manually set the idle with the idle adjustment screw. The idle wil not vary based on load - but it WILL idle enough to drive it. If you go into safe mode the car will run pretty crappy however.

I have never heard of purging one of these valves. Anyways. It's just a solenoid. If you jumper both terminals to a car battery the solenoid will open - allowing air to pass from the inlet to the outlet.

I'm sure you can think of ways to purge the air after the valve is electrically wired open if it doesn't purge itself already.

I believe the purge reference relates to the coolant that flows through the valve body. There is a wax pelet in most of these that will melt when the coolant reaches operating temperature, decreasing the idle idle to a warm idle speed.

If this applies to your setup, search 'how to bleed colling system'.

Ok so now what is happening is I reset the trouble codes then after about 23 miles it sets again and the idle bounces to 1400 and stays there if I touch the gas pedal slightly it surges unless I give it more then the guy is telling me to block off the vent holes in between the valve and the intake until it is at temp the remove whatever I have blocking it ,has anyone heard of this before ???
