Help With Lighting Problem Please?
Thanks ahead for the Help.
So, i just bough myself an EK hatch, Everything works fine, I just have a minor electrical problem with the headlight/turn signal switch.
Problem. The lights work and everything, when i turn the switch to the first click the cluster lights up and the signal lights light up. When i turn it all the way, the headlights come on(as normal) but the cluster turns off.
When i turn it right between the 1st and 2nd click the headlight and cluster light up, but then occasionally turn off due to it not being the proper spot for the switch.
Im thinking the contacts inside the switch just need to be cleaned. I was just wondering how i would go about doing that?
Can i be pointed in the direction of a thread if there is one already?
Thanks for reading/Help.

Its a common problem in these cars especially now that they are getting older. I dont know of any threads but its not that hard of a repair.
1st pull the cover from around the steering wheel. If the car is still equiped with an airbag its always a good idea to disconnect the battery and let it sit for at least 15 mins.
2nd you can finese the switch out by removing the screws and gently prying and wiggling it. I havent done an ek, but I know you can on an eg
3rd disassemble the switch and pay attention when pulling it apart. Clean all the metal contacts with brake/carb clean. Make sure there is no corrosion. then reapply dielectric grease and reassemble. I like to make sure it works 100% before reinstalling it
