Heat in my 92 cx is not working. Fluids are fine, but I am getting a code 10 & 14 which I haven't been able to fix. Need help soon. It's cold.
thanks
thanks
code 10 is IAT sensor - intake air temp
code 14 is IAC valve - idle air control valve
Niether of these should be causing your heat not to work. I would have a look at the heater core, and make sure everything is working ok. YOu also may want to have a look at the blower to see if its doing its job, and also check the little flap door that exposes the core to the passenger compartment. hope this helps

If it was the thermostat I think that one of the return hoses would not get warm, but they do. Very cold and I gotta turn on the ac to defrost. It sucks, help you guys...
The way you desribe it, in order for it to be a thermostat problem the thermostat would have to be stuck open. In that case the engine temp would drop dramatically when the car starts moving. My guess is that one of the cables that opens the doors in the heater case is broken or the valve that lets hot coolant into the heater core is not opening.
I have simular problem, however I DO NOT throw a code(s). My stock temp. gauge rarely works, after a long *** drive it will onyl go up 1/10 of the gauge, could I just have a faultly thermo? Please help, since were on the subject, thanks!

I think that is a faulty thermostat. It does that when it is stuck open.

Check on the firewall where the heater hoses run in to the heater core in the engine compartment. There is a cable that opens and closes a valve for the hot water to flow into the heater core. When you move the dash selector from cold to hot you should be able to see the cable opening and closing. You will probably need a friend to move the selector while you watch the cable.
