Help with Ignition problem
This is for my friend's 92 Acura Vigor. He just called me and said his car won't start. It turns over, but then dies immediately after. The problem has been getting progressively worse over the last month. I guess he had some problems starting it up before, but it always started. This time it's not.
I'm thinking it's something with the dizzy. Maybe a new Cap and Rotor? I am not that good at diagnosing anything, but thats all that I could think of. Please give any advice/suggestions. Thanks.

its got to be sparking because it will actually run if you hold the key in the ignition position. As soon as he lets go, it dies. Is it the starter then? My roomate was telling me that turning the ignition puts the contacts together, so that the car will start, but an electro-magnetic field is made to keep it there after you let go of the key. If the field isn't there, contact is lost and the car will not run anymore.
buy a new ignition switch, they're like 70 bucks, happened twice to two of my cars and you're describing the exact problem i had. almost 100% sure that's it. let me know how it goes
