help: i cant stop my motor from idling wrong
ok
my b16a2 does NOT have a fast idle thermal valve
so thats not the problem
althought it matches the symptoms exactly as described in the following article
http://www.motor.com/MAGAZINE/Articles/042000_05.html
this is EXACTLY what my motor was doing
and I went to buy the valve
only to find that my motor did in fact NOT have a Fast Idle Thermo Valve
now my question is this
what the heck could the problem be???
Idle air controller???
I dont even know anymore!!!

try looking at the air con wires (the ones that lead to the radiator i think) on the left side of the car, coz they sometimes drop low and get cut up by the pulleys. This happened to my car and caused the revs to go up and down during idle. The mechanic said it caused the ECU to receive signals which the air con was not sending out....
