Default help with hondata

I figured I'd post here before sending an e-mail off to hondata. I have a stage 3 setup. I set the overall rev limit to 8200 rpm. it doesn't work though... I've overrev'd (9k) on accident once or twice.

Is there anything I can look for that could be causing this? Could it only be the ecu that's not setting it correctly? I'm lost on this one... any help would be great.

Not sure what the problem might be, but the hondata just cuts fuel to limit the RPMs. I would rather it rev up a few hundred more RPM than having it cut fuel and running lean, creating a detonation situation.

1) Check where your dealer set the rev limit. If set inthe ECU it will override the settings you make with the dash button.

2) Rev counters are inaccurate at the top end. Have it checked or better yet have yor dealer plug in Hondalogger and checkthe RPM directly.

Either the fuel cut rpm is hardset onto the ROM - in which you cannot change it without reburning a chip, or you are not setting the fuel cut rpm correctly via the push button.

If the dynamic method doesn't work, try the static method by reving the motor to half the desired rpm and stepping on the brake. Full details on hondata's website on how to do this.

Also, in the future, there is a Hondata Product support forum on our website.
