Help getting springs and retainers out
Alright all, I'm in the engine building process and get my block back from the machine shop tomorrow, but since I have tonight off work, I should start getting the inner springs on the exhaust side (from a stock GS-R intake side). I borrowed the tool from a friend, and it sounds pretty self-explanitory.... just push like a mother ****** and the valve keepers come out, allowing the retainers to come off and the springs out. Either I'm a *****, or I'm forgeting something.... a little hlep.
Are you using the right tool? And do you know how to do it? If you have a chance go up to the tool truck and ask the tool guy he will sell you the right one. It should run around $35. Oh yeah, hit it with a small hammer and it will come out easily. Work in a clean area cuz those thing tend to fly everywhere. Good luck.

Yeah, it's the right one.... it's the round aluminum one that you press on that allows the valve stem to go into the tool, yet presses on the retainer. I guess I'll just figure it out tomorrow.
the one i use looks like a bic C- clamp.i made a special attachment to be able to push in the retainers and also to be able to assemble it and put in the keepers.
