Default Help, Fuel Filter....

How do I release pressure in a fuel filter before removing it in a 1993 honda civic dx?

Just plug your eyes, turn your face away from the filter, and unbolt That's how I know to do it. You can keep a rag around it as you're unbolting to keep fuel from spraying too much.

EDIT: I'm sure there's a better way though, if you don't feel comfortable doing what I said then wait for an expert

Remove the gas cap and loosen the service bolt at the filter.

how about removing the fuse for the fuel pump and cranking the engine over to releive the pressure?

That wont do anything, it disables the injectors too. You could unplug the fuel pump, but why bother?

I have a fuel gauge on my fuel line. It would drop to zero after 5-10 minutes. Just wait a little bit and use papper towel for any drips. And yeah remove the gas cap.
