hmm.. if i chip a d15 ecu(p08) with a b16a(p30) ecu chip like a spoon program or something i have like a bunch of em lying around here.. just wana ask cause the plugs are smilar to a b16a (p30) ecu but im not sure if it will run the engine.. help me!!!! in short i f i rechiop the p08 ecu with a dohc (p30) chip ..will the p08 ecu become a dohc ecu?

 

well you need to use a DOHC VTEC program that doesn't look for a knock sensor(KS) on the P08 ecu, since the P08 doesn't have a KS. If you have a stock P30 program and you some want to put it on the P08 ecu, the P08 ecu will throw a check engine light for the KS. and yes, if you put a DOHC VTEC program on the P08 ecu, it will become a DOHC VTEC ecu.

the d15 motor has a p06 ecu check it first and i would advise against chipping it, it dont do nothin, i mean its somethin but not worth the trouble i think

 

...that's true if this guy IS actually running a DX/D15 engine. I'm assuming he asked if a DOHC VTEC/P30 program would work on a P08 ecu for just that reason....to power a DOHC VTEC engine.

hi! rechipped a po8 ecu to a dohc spoon program ... runs ok but wats with thte check engine thingy? the cel always stays on... all the time..

 

like i said, it's probably because of the Knock Sensor. the P08 ecu does not utilize a kock sensor board
