Well I know what the code means (No.1 cylinder position sensor) but where exactly is this thing?

1994 Civic hatch with a D16z6 running an MSD distributor etc....etc...

called MSD because when I searched here on honda-tech I read that its in the distributor.........MSD says its not.....what gives???

Honda description of trouble code 9 : problem in the cylinder position sensor circut. This sensor is integral to the distributor, there should be an 8 pin connector plugging in to this circut on the distributor.
