ok im totally stumped im throwing a code 20 and i cant figure it out. ELD? my car will run ok for a few and then all kinds of weired **** starts happening my tach cuts out my radio cuts out and then the thing runs like **** its like something is draining the battery it will be very slow starting or wont start at all. i just replace the battery. the onlt wiring changes i have made recently is the addition of an areomotive 1000hp fuel pump. i wired it to a switch and left the stock plug open using the groud on it for my pump. has anyone had any problems with this eld before? any help is appreciated.

eld is the electronic load detector, it tells the alternator when to charge, have you checked your alt?

 

DAMN!!!! I'm having the same problem with my JDM H22A! I just dont know what to do. I dont even think 88 ludes have ELD's..Whenever i am barley rolling and i have the wheel turned and hit the brakes car just dies. Anymore opinions???? Thanks

 

..ok I had this issue with the ELD on a friends 93 integra LS w/B16. What happend was vtec was pinned to the wrong pinout slots at the ecu plug....which in turn threw an ELD code. I put the vtec pinouts to their proper location and it was all fixed.

What I found out was that the ELD code is thrown when something isnt' wired up correctly or there's something up with an electrical item or sensor. So, if you wired up anything recently, doublecheck that it's wired up correctly, fix it, reset the ecu, and the ELD code should go away.

 

do you think that this might be a result of the fuel pump? it is wired separatly but the stock unit is not plugged in. another thing is my spedo is not working but everything is plugged in properly as far as the engine harness nothing has been touched. thanks for the pointers guys anyone else have simalar problems?

This describes what the ELD does. It detects when a lot of power is needed and it increases rpms to compensate. So if you 15"s are hitting hard on a Nelly tune it will rev up the motor a bit to give you good power. So if you crank the steering wheel and press the brakes and have some other stuff on the p/s oil pressure sensor and ELD should be asking for more power from the motor which it seems didnt work and then the motor died. At least this is my understanding from the helm manual

 

Well, thats the thing. I have no system..unless you wanna call my 2 5 1/4" speakers and 3 yr old alpine head unit a huge system. I wonder if my bad brake booster check valve would have anything to do with this code??? But i still wonder if my vtec isnt wired properly
