HELP! car wont start!
Hi
this is a 96 hatch w/93 JDM H22a
everything else is done, I even re-pinned the harness-from stock obd2 to H22a Obd 1.
but I'm stuck
the reason I repinned the harness was that I got stuck on this one problem. I thought I had the car wired wrong, so I repinned it exactly to each sensor to the ecu (from the tech journals that I have) and the car does the exact same thing!
so this is what it does
I turn the key ON to start and crank and it wont start! I have fuel (becuz I an smell it and the plugs are wet), I have spark, I put a plug on the wire and it sparks up, it shot fire out of one of the cylinders and scared the bee jeezus out of me! (spark plug next to open hole, and I cranked it, PPOOOFF) I even replaced the ignitor and coil with new ones. the timing belt is good.
I dont get it, I had 6 check engine lights the first time I started it up and it ran, it ran alright. now I hooked the vacuum lines up like they are supposed to be.. and now it wont turn over... it'll crank all day
the check engine light stays on constantly and the batt and oil lights are on too. ever have this problem?
so its all ready to go, but won't start?
have any ideas?
thanks
charles

try reading the check engine light and what code its putting out. you also said that it was working till you hook up the vac right? recheck the vac lines. and this may sound stupid but check the ground
when ever you turn the key on does the check engine light go off if not that does mean bad ecu. and check your ground to your wire harness make sure its on good, because that can cause the car not to run. and if the engine light goes away what codes is the car throwing.
alright, the ecu light comes ON, then off really quick, then back ON
as with the other guy, I ahve tried all 4 ecus that I have lying around, plus, I rewired it to OBD1 (and checked each sensor to each ecu pinout with a meter) everything on the harness is correct. I'm gonna swap out the dist and see if its the CKP? sensor? the one sensor on the dist that is not fixable/removable..
thanks
any more help is appreciated
