Help!!! can't get rid of error code
I hav'nt made any changes to my GSR for a while now. For some unknown reason the check engine light has come up. I checked and confirmed the codes. It came up with 2 error codes, 17 (VSS Speed sensor) and 3 (MAP sensor). I checked for any vacume leaks and could'nt find anything! i've also noticed my top end flattening off from 6000RPM. It just seems to crawl to 8000RPM.
I really can't seem to find out what 's wrong?
any help please

just try resetting your ecu, disconnect the battery, wait a few minutes, and then reconnect the battery, start the car and leave it idling for 5 minutes or so. if you still have a problem, then you might need an APEXi sensor or something similar, do you have an A/F ratio gauge? if it's saying you have a map problem you might be running lean. get this taken care of soon, dont hurt your engine. and if your problem goes away, you know where the check engine light reset is right? just under your driver side dash...... hold it down for a few seconds

The MAP code probably put your ECU into "Limp mode", which would prevent V-tec from engaging. This would explain your sluggishness up high.
Now would be a good time for you to get a Helm's - I don't know the trouble-shooting steps off hand, but the manual more than covers them. However, a good starting point would be to check the harness connections @ the MAP & VSS, and all the wires attached to said harnesses.
That's the "Maintenance Required" reset. It has nothing to do with a CEL.
