Default HELP: b16 rev problem

just dropped in a b16 in my dc2.. running on p72 ecu. does the same thing w/ a p28 ecu. what happens is, when i rev it up to 6500 it gets hella loud as if it can't take it any higher. it also hella lags and doesn't pick up at all.. anyone know wussup with this?

i have no knock sensor on as of now, but that shouldn't be the prob

First, are you throwing a code? You probably are if you're not running a knock sensor. There are a handful of codes that will not allow VTEC to engage, and that might be one of them. Pull the codes out of it, and check them. http://hybrid2.honda-perf.org/tech/codes.html
