Help with axle clip ring question????
...my Si tranny (zc/si tranny in 88 crx si) recently went south and when I pulled it and put in a new tranny I noticed that the passenger side axle was missing the clip that holds the axle into the transmission (might have happened when we were putting in the zc) but at the time I didn't think anything of it. After driving the car for a while without any problems some concerns have popped up about the axle actually staying in the tranny and not popping out, and last nightt a funny sound came from that side of the car and some slight vibration when the suspension was compressed (going over a bump pothole etc)....so after all this rambling my question is should I just pull the axle and get a new one and and make sure it has a clip-ring

I think you answered your own Q there at the bottom. It's best to just get a new axle now, purchase a ring (most aftermarket axles don't come with them), and replace the tranny seal to ensure that it's not leaking. Good luck.
