Default Help 95 EX motor in 91 SI hatch problems

My buddy and i put a 95 EX Vtec motor in his 91 SI hatch and we are getting a check engine light and it throws the ecu into a safe mode(fuel shut off at like 3200 rpms).
When we check the euc it is giving us code #4
When i look up the code it is saying the

CKP Sensor (Crankshaft Position Sensor)
defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor

From my knowledge this is in the distributor.

I used the 91 wiring harnees on the motor with the 91 intake manifold on the 95 engine. Only thing we had to do was buy a vtec controller to get that to work but havent been able to try out. the other thing was re-wire the distributor since the plugs were different. we got the wiring diagrams from honda for both years and wired them as they should be.

Please i need help so when can get his car going.

Thanks

use the crx ecu, not the ex one. Always keep the injector/distributor/ecu the same....

change the distributor. use the si ecu and use an rpm activator from msd to activate vtec

....or you can stick with an Si distributor, injectors, and run an 89-91 B16A PR3 ecu....but..... have it reprogrammed with disabled sensors (disabled 2nd 02, knock sensor, and vtec pressure switch). This is actually better because you'll be running off an actual VTEC ecu which will provide the correct fuel/timing maps vs. an RPM activator switch that will not supply the correct fuel/timing curves.

btw....
if you do go this route, I have a mugen program with these sensors disabled. Hit me up if interested. (check out the ecu section on jdmhondaparts.com-- thats me)

word. lates.
