need some help. i adjusted valves on my b18a1 to haynes manual specs. but when finding TDC i was rotating clockwise not CCW.could this have messed something up because now it runs like crap sounds like bogging like it wont clear out then it will kick in and be fine for a sec.and now it wont start.i only adjusted in/ex on #1. when accelerating sounds like a subaru then sounds fine when it clears. might need new plugs they are turning white? wires are all in the right spot.any help will provide more info.

Sounds timing oriented... Something is off, can't help too much here.

thats what i think but i have no timing gun. adjusting the valves wouldnt cause this problem would it? even if the clearance ust happens to be a little off for some reason?

Absolutely. If you rotated the engine the wrong direction in between adjustments, then you adjusted the valve lash incorrectly. Pull the valve cover off, line up the timing marks, loosen all the rockers, and readjust the valve lash correctly. Sad to say it but I have done this before.

It shouldn't really affect timing unless you did something way outta whack. Sticking valves, overadvanced-timing, and running lean will cause this.
