I bought a swapped 92 Honda civic with I believe a d16z6 and a chrome tune. my car run okay I guess besides sometimes the motor just shuts off and I want someone's opinion on why this is happening.

 

Need more info about car, check engine light on or off, how it drives, idles. Impossible to diagnose with no info. Also when does the motor turn off every time you drive it or under certain conditions?

 

no check engine light. it usually happens in fifth or fourth gear and it happens usually within the first 20 miles on my trip but after I pull over and start it back up it runs fine for the next few days. sometimes the car idles up and down from 1200 rpms to 1500 rpms only when its in neutral.

 

If it was me i would go back to a stock map, cut j1 and see how it runs since I assume it is a stock engione with bolt ones at most.

 

I figured that could do the trick. I don't really know what the guy did to the car before me, he claims to have swapped the motor so it would have vtech but didn't really give me a straight answer of what kind of motor
