Heat Resistant???
ok so i'm sitting at home thinking of more DIY stuff to busy myself with till i get more $$, and i had already planned to get a cold air extension to add to my short ram intake so that i could swap it on when the weather gets better.
my question is regarding the heat resistance of brake caliper paint and its effectiveness under the engine. if i spray my intake tubing with heat resistant caliper paint, will it yield the same results as using a high-temp engine enamel or paint? i know the difference in power won't be dramatic or anything, but i just want to take some precautions as to keeping my intake air temp as low as possible.
Do you think the caliper paint will hold up and be effective in keeping the hot air under the hood from directly heating up my intake pipe? i realize that the air sucked up by the filter is probably already hot, but i don't want it getting any hotter because my metal pipe is absorbing and retaining all that heat.
thanks alot.

neone have ne ideas? i think my caliper paint says it should be good up to 900 degrees Farenheit. will this be sufficient? or just burn and melt off in a big gooey pile?
The caliper paint is labeled as high temp for only one reason. To keep it from burning off of the calipers.
It most likely won't do anything for keeping the intake air cooler..
