Would it be pointless to paint my intake with hi-temp spray paint?
My intake has some scratches on it and just wondering would it be pointless to use hi-temp spray paint.

i dont think you would need hi temp spray paint regular should do just fine the intake doesnt get that hot.

well, thats a question that only you could answer. If you think the time you spend doing it is worth the result then sure, and if not, well you get the point.
I think It might be a good thing because it would act like an insulater, keeping the high temp air from heating the intake pipe. However it could also prolong the intake pipe cool down.

Yeah, I looked into doing this but all the paint I looked at required to be heated to like 300F or so to cure. I would think it would help keep heat from getting to the intake pipe, but if it does get hot, it should actually cool down as fast or faster than before. That is because a ton of air is rushing through it and the ceramic paint should help more heat from coming in. It won't cool down by just sitting in a hot engine bay.

yeah that was the problem but on the back of the hi temp paint can it sais youc an cure it in a oven so my intake will fit in the oven but im kinda weary of doing it, lol

i don't think it would be worth the time. the air would be travelling too fast through the intake pipe to be heated up by the pipe itself. my 2 cents

I ended up doing it, I dont know if it helped at all..doubt it but it looks alot better..I used a silver hi temp paint so it has like a exhuast, or header look.
