Default headlights

i have a 96 civic and i just changed the headlights to aftermarket. I have seen some where that you can make it so your low beams stay on with your high beams. i was wondering if anyone knew anything about that

Separate bulbs? If not, don't do it, as you'll melt the plastic housing from the heat (or blow the bulb from running both filaments). If so, use a relay to create a logical OR circuit for the low beams to light when either low or high beam wire sees power.
