Headgasket question.....did a search
After searching for an hour or so I'm still not sure if my head gasket is bad. Here are the symptoms:
1. disapearring coolant
2. while changing oil noticed coolant on the bottom of the oil pan(bad oil pan gasket too?)
3. oil leak on the block on the front left corner.
But, there is no white substance on my oil cap, the oil looked fine when I changed it, there is no smoke coming from my exhaust, and my temp is just fine, no matter how hard I run it. It has only overheated once because the coolant was pretty much gone. This is on an EG with a C1 swap. Can anyone help? What could it be other than my head gasket?
One more thing, before my swap my D15 did the same exact thing and eventually blew the head gasket. Now, just 7000 miles after my swap, this motor is doing it too. Is there something wrong not motor related? Any help is greatly appreciated.

(your whole motor or just $50) I say you just got bad luck with the headgasket.</TD></TR></TABLE>TIME. It would kinda suck to go in there and replace a head gasket and then come to find out you still got a problem
Or you could keep driving it and keep pondering whats the problem.. blow your motor. then your screwed. If its time you need, well then find time.. ask for a day off work or something.. Replace the headgasket which could be the problem and save yourself some money in the long run. Its Just an opinion.. thats what this thread was for.. correct?
trace the coolant you see at the bottom of the pan to see where its coming from. look around the engine for signs of coolant leaks, especially around the water pump. if you have access to a cooling system pressure tester then it would help. cause it'll pressure up the system and if there is a leak somewhere you will be able to see it dripping down. another option is to leave your car running and look around. i doubt its the head gasket. if you run the engine out of coolant it will lead to over heating/head gasket problem.
Any other opinions on this matter? I might be replacing the head gasket next week, but what else should I look for? Also, how detailed is replacing the head gasket? I know I don't have the knowledge, but I can do some detailed stuff. I have friends that are rebuilding a couple 350/383 motors that said they would help me out. Anyone have a link to steps on replacing it?
Also, HybridDNA, what else do you think it might be? Any idea? I can track the coolant leak this sunday at earliest. LMK some ideas and thanks all for the help

It definately sounds like the head gasket. Do you let your car warm up before you start beating it, or just dump it. If you don't let it warm up, I've heard that that can cause all kinds of probs and that could be one of them. Head gasket takes like 5 hours to fix. don't keep driving it though or your warp your head, or worse your block. just fix it and you'll feel better.

I have remote start on my car so most of the time it's started a minute or two before I get to it. If I do jump in and go I don't beat the hell out of it. And I have to drive it, daily driver and only car that I have. Also, time is scarce. Work 9 hours a day 5 days a week and school 9 hours a day for the other two days. Dont' wanna go tearing my motor apart if I don't have to. Any other suggestions?
