Default Header Sounds Horrible

Car is a 97 Acura CL, same as CD Accord EX.

well i finally got the megan racing headers on today, after breaking not one, but TWO of my friends socket wrenches getting those bolts off , lower the car down, start it up...

WTF.

sounds like a massive leak. throw it back up on the stands, retighten everything, the o2 sensor is snug in there, all the gasktets are one, EVERYthing is real tight, once again, sounds like its leaking. i dont get it. it sounds horrible, like an old school VW bug. i bought the header used but the guy said it was only on his for like a couple weeks, so could something be wrong with the header?

blahhh.

2 piece... 4-2-1

i cant really tell where its leaking from... originally it sounded like it was coming from where the header meets the cat... but it might be where the 2 pieces connect... i'm really aggrivated i thought i was getting a deal for the header, but if i have to machine it flat or get a weld on it, i guess i was wrong

There is no such thing as a great deal. You get what you pay for.

Yeah it sounds like the donut to me too. Let me guess, you re-used the donut didn't you. Get a new one, and check out the header gasket too. On ebay you might be able to find one of the thick metal perferated ones for real cheap, they tend to help out headers a little bit if they are not perfect. But a machine shop might be able to hook you up for like 20 bucks.
