Default Header #3 Getting Started

Just took one picture. Header will be finished this week and I'll then post some more pictures. It will be a 4-2-1 with stepped primaries and I hope to make it fit with a non modded cross member.

Yes, 2point6 has the first 4-1. Header #2 is on Corey's car, but I have Corey's car so..... Header 3 will be different from #2. Once it's finished it will be tested against #2. The better header will stay with Corey and the other will be sold.

Hopefully #3 will be the best of all of them. I'm using low $$ formed collectors on this header so I know the results will be better once merge collectors are incorporated intothe design.

When do you anticipate one of the test headers will be sold?

Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy!!!!

Will the better of the two 4-2-1 headers be used as the template for the production piece??
If so, when do you figure the production header to be started?

Yes, I believe so.. Dave will have to chime in about when the buyer list will be made.. Not until the header has proved itself, im sure... Testing testing testing

Congrats! Couple quick Questions Dave:

1. Does it bolt up the stock 97-01 prelude cat?
2. Will it be available for both base VTEC and Type SH models?

Thanks,
Mike

The first 4-1 header showed good gains but the ground clearance was poor and the cross member needed way too much modification. The second header, a 4-2-1, was an improvement over the 4-1 in the low and high range but at VTEC xover the header wasn't as good as the 4-1. So I hope this next header will work better in the VTEC xover compared to the 4-1 and better in the low and high rpms as compaared to the first 4-2-1.

Please remember all these tests are being conducted with a stock engine and ECU. The weak VTEC area of the current header might be able to be tuned out.

If this header performs well then it will be available as the build list dictates.

I hope we can test this the first weekend of the new year.

The header will have a 2-1/2" collector so it won't bolt up tot he stock exhaust. You'll also need a 2-1/2" cat and then a modification to your B pipe.

What are the diameters of the primaries?
