Default Header installation...

I am ready to install my DC ceramic header. It came with one gasket four the header and exhaust manifold, aren't others needed, such as for the down-pipe? I don't want to break my O2 sensor wires, or even snap it, what should I watch out for? Any other tips would be great, I want this installation to go flawless, I don't want to worry if my header will crack, any precations? Thanks alot...

no, you can use your old exhaust doughnut unless it is really bad. Thats the one that connects the header to the cat.

Ah, okay thanks. So there are only two gaskets for my header to cat?

There should be the main manifold gasket that's between the head and the exhaust manifold (header), and the thick donut in the end of the exhaust manifold (header). Both can typically be reused, and the donut can be a pain to remove depending on age. That's it for gaskets, unless you have a two piece header, or you're taking apart the B pipe. Be sure to use "anti-seize" on the O2 sensor threads.

tourqe the bolts to spec.. make sure you start from the middle and work your way out when you snug the nuts,, so the gasket flattens properly.. let the engine warm to temp and recheck the nuts after it cools... then recheck recheck recheck
civic girl ,,shane89Z good luck

When I got my 2-piece DC header, it only came with the two donut o-rings that go in between the 2-pieces. I'm surprised they gave you a head/header gasket because I remember having to reuse my old one. If you did get the 2-piece header, but didn't receive the 2 o-rings, get those first. Someone on a forced induction board had generic o-rings that kept on blowing out, so try to find the OEM DC o-rings. If you got the one-piece header, disregard everything said on this paragraph.

When I had to take off my stock exhaust manifold, it was almost impossible to get the three screws that hold the two pieces together off. Be prepared to invest in a portable torch so you can cook the nuts before you break them off. I rounded the bolts and had to buy a dremel, then use 10,000 cutting wheels to get that off. What a PITA!!!

I have a DC Sports JDM ITR DC2 header that I plan to install pretty soon; I've been delayed unfortunately.

This header came with nothing -- no gaskets, no header bolts, no donut. I had to buy the donut from honda ($35) bc the inside diameter 2.5" is larger than the factory header, hence no way to reuse the old donut.

Has anyone bought a similar header and received header bolts, head/header gasket?

How much should I expect to pay for a nice set of header bolts and the gasket b/n the header and the head..

thanks
