can someone tell me step by step on how to install dc header on to my d16z6. and would i need a new exhaust gasket? and would i still be able to put the stock heat sheld even if i have an aftermarket header? thanks...

you cant use the heat shield with the DC.

unbolt heat sheild
unbolt header from cat
unbolt header from the metal support (dont know wat to call it) has two bolts
unbolt header from the head.

installation is opposite.

also dont over torque your header bolts...ive broken a few in my past life

you should be able to keep your exhaust header gasket..

and its a good thing to did this when your engine is cold...hot headers suck

but when i was looking at the header the o2 sensor part was at the end of the header and rite now the stock o2 sensor is close to the radiator. what do i do? make the wires longer? o btw thnaks for the help

there should be an extension included if you bought the header new.
otherwise, you need to contact dc, place an ad somewhere, or call a local shop and they usually have a few laying aorund

if you bought a new dc header....they supply you with o2 relocation wire, which basically extends the wire further to reach the new placement of the sensor

Do you have to run that wire? I would suppose that you would have to because it is a sensor wire.

u can get a extension adaptor to extend the length wiring

when i ran a DC header in my car. i just ran the wire down to where it was supposed to be. i didnt need an extension. it was long enough.

i miss that header......it had great high end power

i dont think you could cut an o2 sensor wire and extend it or solder it
o2 sensor are very sensetive
if you cut it it wont work correctly

if you can reach that far. it will be best if it was at least on jack stands

DC sent the wrong adpater to one of my friends before. After we wired the 02 the check engine light came on. Everything worked fine though and we never worried about it.
